Ceres is a dwarf planet in the asteroid belt. Ceres Pharma is a pharmaceutical company from Sint-Denijs-Westrem, Belgium. We find the second one a lot more interesting, and we’ve been in a steady orbit around it for years.

Ceres Pharma was founded in 2017 and focuses on women’s & family health: food supplements, medical devices, medicines and care products. It has more than 500 people, a strong position in Belgium, Italy and Central and Eastern Europe, and fifteen acquisitions between 2018 and 2025. Every acquisition brings brands. And every brand wants a website.

The mothership: nine languages, one newsroom

The corporate site is the centre of the system. It tells you who Ceres Pharma is, shows the brands by field, keeps the newsroom up to date and recruits new colleagues. That newsroom is busy, by the way: acquisitions, partnerships, and since 2024 one shared company name for every branch.

All of that in nine languages: Dutch, French, English, Italian, Hungarian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Slovak and Serbian. Not a translate button that turns it into something vaguely Hungarian, but real translations per page.

The system

The brand sites orbit around the corporate site. CalxPlus, Stresspure, Bioradix, Primrose, Silix, nosko: each with its own colours, type, imagery and audience. A chewable calcium tablet speaks differently from a nasal spray for babies, and that should show.

Under the hood they share the same foundation: a product catalogue with filters, a store locator with pharmacies and online pharmacies, contact, legal pages and the sign-off ‘A brand by Ceres Pharma’. When a new brand joins, we don’t start from zero. We start from what already works, and put the energy into what makes that brand different.

One foundation, lots of brands. And always a spot left for the next one.

Lots of content, little hassle

Pharma is a world of package leaflets, claims that have to be legally watertight and product info that changes per country. That’s a lot of text. The Ceres Pharma team has to be able to keep it up to date themselves, without calling us about every comma.

So we build the back end as carefully as the front end: clear fields, reusable blocks and fixed places for product information. Creating a new page feels like filling in a form, not like designing one. Fewer mistakes, more time for everything else.

The newsroom keeps track of the acquisitions. It has plenty to do.

Responsive and findable, by default

Everything works on every screen, because people who hesitate in a pharmacy search on their phone. And everything is ready for search engines: every language at its own address, the right links between language versions, proper titles and descriptions on every page. Not an extra we sell afterwards. Just how we build.

The whole system

A group that adds a brand or two every year needs a web landscape that grows along. Here it is, project by project:
