Accounting Together, hence Accto. A group of accountancy and tax firms across Flanders, more than eighty people, and a fixed file manager per client. Big enough to handle everything, small enough to know your name.

Which is exactly what makes the website tricky. One brand, one story, but every office stays its own company with its own registration number, its own opening hours and its own phone. The site could not pretend it’s one big firm.

Twelve offices, twelve cards

Every office is its own page in the CMS: address, email, phone, company number, opening hours, a photo of the façade and a point on the map. The offices page shows them all on one map of Flanders, with the cards underneath. Anyone getting in touch picks their office in the form first, so the message lands where the files are.

A new office, or one that moves? Accto adds the page and drops the pin themselves. We don’t have to touch a thing.

Tools you lend out

The most unusual page is one you rarely find at an accountant’s: Tools. Not services, but the links their clients need. The National Bank’s balance sheet register, the VIES VAT number check, the company register, the tax portal, mandate management, a rent indexation calculator, an IBAN check. Plus their own PDF guides: what has to appear on an invoice, how to grant a tax filing mandate, how the national eID app works.

It’s not a sales page. It’s what a good accountant does: handing you the right form before you have to go looking for it.

Four platforms, four doors

An accountancy firm works with its clients’ platforms, not the other way round. So the login page simply lines up the four doors — Billit, Billtobox, Clearfacts and Yuki — each with a logo, one line of explanation and a button. Accto manages those cards themselves; add a platform and it’s there the next day.

And the rest of the house

The same site carries the news (ordered per year, with the three most recent items pulled onto the homepage automatically), the job openings with an application form — usually about ten at a time, because good accountants are scarce — and a search across everything.

Strategy and design came from Studio Copain in Kortrijk, the photography from Nick Decombel, the in-house IT side from B-inside. We built it. Accounting together, website together.
