An offer you couldn’t refuse
Same owner as Fou du Goût, different kitchen: pizza, pasta and small plates to share. Il Padrino got a fresher, yellower design and the same smart gift vouchers. It was a temporary story, and we’re not making a drama out of it. Well, only a small one.
If you know Fou du Goût, you know the owner of Il Padrino. Same hospitality, different kitchen: no golden letters and seasonal menus, but bruschetta on homemade focaccia, classic pasta, pizza from the oven and a bar lined with Italian bottles.
“Mangiare per vivere e non vivere per mangiare”, said the homepage. We eat to live, we don’t live to eat. At Il Padrino you simply did both.
Same family, fresher face
Fou du Goût is white, gold and restrained. Il Padrino was allowed to be louder. Black, white and a big yellow splash that looks like it came straight off the pizza box, with pink accents for anything you need to click. In the spirit of a film classic, without anyone waking up next to a horse’s head.
Under the hood it’s family: the same foundation as Fou du Goût, the same way of working, and a back office where the team updates the menu themselves. On a big screen photo and text sit side by side, on a phone they stack, and the reservation button travels along everywhere.
Bellissimo, but at home
On the menu: “to share or not to share”, carne, pesce and vegetariano. And because not every evening is a night out, Il Padrino got a takeaway page: pizzas for home, pasta too, with a discount if you pick them up yourself. Quick, easy, and in a box you don’t throw away straight away.
The same gift vouchers, in yellow
Il Padrino got the same hybrid gift voucher system as Fou du Goût. Bought online as a PDF in your inbox, printed or emailed on the spot at the counter, or as a QR code on a card. Scanned with a phone, a PIN for the team, everything neatly tracked. And no commission for a booking platform.
How it all works, from counter to dashboard, you can read at Fou du Goût. Here it simply got a different outfit.
Fine
Every good Italian film ends with one word in big letters: Fine. Il Padrino was a temporary project, and the website is going offline soon too. This page stays, as a memory of a place where you ate well, laughed loudly and took a pizza home for the road.
What’s left? A beautiful set of photos, a gift voucher system that simply keeps running at Fou du Goût, and the conclusion that a temporary restaurant doesn’t deserve a temporary website. Nothing personal. Just good work.
